ISKCON Temple, బృందావనం

3

The ISKCON temple in Vrindavan, also known as the Sri Krishna Balaram Temple, was built in 1975. The temple is believed to be located at the exact place where Lord Krishna played with the other children some 5000 years ago.

The temple is home to beautiful paintings that depict the life and teachings of Lord Krishna. It is different from other temples in that people don’t just come here to pray but also to meditate and study the holy Hindu text, Bhagvad Geeta. Some devotees also take up part time work within the complex.

The temple itself has three main altars while the walls are decorated with beautiful carvings and paintings. More than the Indians, it attracts foreign visitors who come here to seek spiritual solace and enlightenment. Vedic knowledge here is also broadcast in English.
