The Sa-Ngor Monastery is a monastery situated very close to Gangtok. It lies at a distance of 5 km from Gangtok. Sa-Ngor is a Tibetan refugee institution, established by Luding Khen rimpoche in the year 1961. Also, this monastery is the only one belonging to the Sakya order of Tibetan Buddhism in Sikkim.
