Narghat lies on the banks of Mirzapur city. As per historical records, a tank named Narain used to lie at the spot, but it was later engulfed by the river.
After that the present Narghat was used as a jetty for the cargo barges on which various products were loaded for nearby cities. It was used for trade years ago and still contains old inscriptions and prices in English, Persian and Hindi on its old stone pillars.
